OUTLOOK

The Nigerian stock market closed the week on a bearish note, extending losses from the previous week as market volatility remained elevated. Declines were recorded across all major sectors, underscoring the market’s underperformance throughout the week. Of the five trading sessions, the market posted losses on three days, with gains recorded only twice. Investor sentiment remained cautious, largely driven by profit-taking activities and lingering macroeconomic uncertainties. With no major catalysts expected to alter the market’s direction in the near term, this bearish momentum is likely to persist into the new week.
