Trading activities in the Nigerian Equities market closed positive at the end of today, Friday (28/02/2025), as the NGX-ASI increased to 107,821.39 from 107,675.46 recorded at the close of the previous trading day, indicating a YTD return of +4.09%.
The market performance for the week, however, decreased by 0.62%, with the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) decreasing to 107,821.39 from 108,497.40 recorded at the start of the trading week.
The market capitalization increased by ₦91 billion to ₦67.193 trillion from ₦67.102 trillion recorded at the previous trading day’s close. Similarly, the market turnover increased to ₦14.078 billion from ₦9.565 billion.
The market breadth was negative at 0.76X as 25 stocks advanced and 33 stocks declined, while 65 stocks remained unchanged. AUSTINLAZ topped the gainers’ list with 10.00%, while REDSTAREX declined by 9.96% to lead the losers’ chart.
ZENITHBANK recorded the highest volume and the highest value for the day.

OUTLOOK
The Nigerian stock market closed the week in the red despite posting a positive performance on Friday. The overall weekly performance was unsurprising, given that the market recorded three losing sessions during the week. As the corporate action season continues, with the release of audited financial statements by listed companies, we anticipate a mixed performance in the coming week.
