Market Review for the week ended 28th November, 2025

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) All-Share Index (ASI) extended its bearish trend for the fourth consecutive week, declining by 0.14% week-on-week to close at 143,520.53 points, compared to 143,722.62 points recorded in the previous week. Consequently, the year-to-date (YtD) return further moderated to 39.44%. Similarly, market capitalization shed 0.14%, settling at ₦91.286 trillion, down from ₦91.415 trillion in the preceding week.

A total turnover of 4.140 billion shares, valued at ₦115.889 billion, was traded in 102,351 deals on the NGX during the week. This represents a 55.17% increase in volume, a 9.08% rise in value, and a 5.23% decline in the number of deals, compared to the 2.668 billion shares worth ₦106.264 billion exchanged across 107,998 deals in the previous week. Sectoral performance was broadly negative across the tracked indices, except for the NGX Banking Index, which appreciated by 0.67% week-on-week. The NGX Insurance Index, NGX Consumer Goods Index, NGX Oil & Gas Index, and the NGX Industrial Goods Index declined by 0.07%, 0.70%, 0.23%, and 1.92%, respectively.

Although the market closed the week on a bearish note, several equities delivered notable performances. IKEJAHOTEL (+45.08%), NCR (+32.97%), UACN (+12.71%), CWG (+11.84%), and VERITASKAP (+11.25%) emerged as the top gainers. Conversely, MEYER ranked as the worst-performing stock for the week, declining by 18.89% week-on-week (WoW).
