Market Review for the week ended 5th June 2026.
The NGX All-Share Index and Market Capitalization depreciated by 3.11% and 3.06% to close the week at 242,593.31 and ₦155.594 trillion respectively.
Meanwhile, a total turnover of 3.966 billion shares worth ₦175.659 billion in 343,587 deals was traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange, in contrast to a total of 2.398 billion shares valued at ₦111.480 billion that exchanged hands last week in 241,313 deals.
The Financial Services Industry (measured by volume) led the activity chart with 2.690 billion shares valued at ₦69.975 billion traded in 134,882 deals: thus contributing 67.83% and 39.84% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively. The Services Industry followed with 323.601 million shares worth ₦6.443 billion in 25,906 deals. Third place was the ICT Industry, with a turnover of 176.039 million shares worth ₦27.892 billion in 40,837 deals.
Twenty-three (23) equities appreciated in price during the week lower than thirty-four (34) equities in the previous week. Sixty-five (65) equities depreciated in price, higher than fifty-one (51) equities in the previous week, while fifty-eight (58) equities remained unchanged, lower than sixty-one (61) recorded in the previous week.
