Market Review for the week ended 21st November, 2025
The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) All-Share Index (ASI) extended its bearish trend for the third consecutive week, declining by 2.24% week-on-week to close at 143,722.62 points, compared to 147,013.59 points recorded in the previous week. Consequently, the year-to-date (YtD) return further moderated to 39.64%. Similarly, market capitalization fell by 2.23%, settling at ₦91.415 trillion, down from ₦93.501 trillion in the preceding week.
A total turnover of 2.668 billion shares, valued at ₦106.264 billion, was traded in 107,998 deals on the NGX during the week. This reflects a 63.58% decline in volume, a 32.07% decrease in value, and a 19.63% drop in the number of deals, compared to the 7.325 billion shares worth ₦156.425 billion exchanged across 134,383 deals in the previous week. Sectoral performance was broadly negative across the tracked indices. The NGX Banking Index, NGX Insurance Index, NGX Consumer Goods Index, NGX Oil & Gas Index, and the NGX Industrial Goods Index declined by 3.85%, 5.39%, 0.44%, 1.61%, and 4.50%, respectively.
ACCESSCORP led trading activity by volume despite recording a 10.87% week-on-week decline, while ARADEL dominated trading by value despite a 2.64% WoW drop. Although the market closed the week bearish, several equities delivered notable performances. NCR (+60.55%), UPL (+17.65%), TANTALIZER (+17.29%), CAVERTON (+17.02%), and UACN (+16.67%) emerged as the top gainers. Conversely, INTENEGINS ranked as the worst-performing stock for the week, falling 18.71% WoW.
