The Nigerian equities market opened the week on a bearish note, Monday, 17th November 2025. The NGX ASI fell by 1.26% to close at 145,159.77 from 147,013.59. Similarly, the market capitalisation decreased by ₦1.1 trillion to ₦92.3 trillion from ₦93.53 trillion recorded at the close of the previous trading day. Also, market turnover decreased to ₦31.1 billion from ₦42.2 billion.
The market breadth increased by 13.59% to 1.17x from 1.03x, as 28 stocks advanced, 24 stocks declined, and 94 stocks remained unchanged. SOVRENINS (9.97%), NCR (9.96%), TANTALIZER (9.81%), PRESTIGE (9.70%) and EUNISELL (8.52%) led the market with positive performance, while DANGCEM (-10.00%) and ENAMELWA (-10.00%) led the losers’ chart.
Sectoral performance was negative as NGXINDUSTR (-4.48%), NGXOILGAS (-0.32%), NGXBNK (-1.01%), and NGXCNSMRGDS (-0.02%) depreciated, while NGXINS (0.07%), appreciated.
