Stocks Recover in April As Market Records ₦966Bn Weekly Gain

Trading activities in the Nigerian Equities market closed negative at the end of today, Friday (25/04/2025), as the NGX-ASI decreased to 105,752.61 from 106,074.26 recorded at the close of the previous trading day, indicating a YTD return of -1.92%.

However, the market performance for the week increased by 1.46%, with the NGX All-Share Index (ASI) increasing to 105,752.61 from 104,233.81 recorded at the start of the trading week.

The market capitalization decreased by ₦202 billion to ₦66.465 trillion from ₦66.667 trillion recorded at the previous trading day’s close. However, the market turnover increased to ₦20.175 billion from ₦10.373 billion.

The market breadth was positive at 2.86X, as 40 stocks advanced, 14 stocks declined, and 69 stocks remained unchanged. IKEJAHOTEL topped the gainers’ list with 10.00%, while DANGCEM declined by 10.00% to lead the losers’ chart.

GTCO recorded the highest volume while MTNN recorded the highest value for the day.
