The market opened for three trading days this week as the Federal Government of Nigeria declared Wednesday June 28 and Thursday June 29, 2023 as Public Holidays to commemorate Eid-el Kabir celebration. The Nigerian equities market closed trading activities last week on a positive note. The NGX All-Share Index and the Market Capitalization appreciated by 2.98% to close the week at 60,968.27 and N33.198 trillion respectively.
Seventy-seven (77) equities appreciated in price during the week, fifty-nine (59) equities depreciated in price while twenty (20) equities remained unchanged, lower than fifty-nine (59) equities recorded in the previous week.
The Uptrend was witnessed in some small and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; IKEJA HOTEL PLC (+33.00%), TRANSCORP HOTELS PLC (+32.95%), ETERNA PLC. (+32.95%), STERLING FINANCIAL HOLDINGS COMPANY PLC (+30.74%), CHAMS HOLDING COMPANY PLC (+29.82%), R T BRISCOE PLC. (+29.55%), OMATEK VENTURES PLC (+28.57%), FTN COCOA PROCESSORS PLC (+25.79%), NIGERIAN AVIATION HANDLING COMPANY PLC (+21.67%) and THOMAS WYATT NIG. PLC. (+20.77%).
