The Nigerian equity market closed trading activities last week on a negative note. The NGX All-Share Index and The Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.05% to close the week at 52,187.93 and N28.417 trillion respectively.
Forty-four (44) equities appreciated in price during the week, twenty-seven (27) equities depreciated in price while eighty-five (85) equities remained unchanged, higher than seventy-eight (78) equities recorded in the previous week. All indices finished higher with the exception of the Oil & Gas and NGX Industrial Goods depreciated by -1.67%, and -0.03% respectively.
The downtrend was witnessed in some medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; CWG (-25.60%) ARDOVA PLC (-23.67%), MAY & BAKER NIGERIA PLC (-10.11%) HONEYWELL FLOUR MILL PLC (-9.67%), ACADEMY PRESS PLC. (-8.38%), FIDELITY BANK PLC (-6.46%), CHAMPION BREW.PLC. (-6.43%), and AIRTEL AFRICA PLC (-0.53%).
